Brewery Shaft lies at the south end of the Nent Force Level and is presently managed by the Nenthead Mines Conservation Society. In the early years of the 20th century it provided an essential source of power for mining around Nenthead. The engine rooms at the shaft bottom include remains of the mining equipment. It is now a fascinating place to visit as part of the Nenthead Mine site. This talk will elaborate on the limited available information about the history of the shaft and include images of the important archaeology of the site.
